The elastic Boot fitted sheets adapt very well to mattresses with non-rectangular shapes. This is ensured by the cotton-elastane mix of 75% cotton and 25% elastane. Even with cut-outs in the Maratzen caused by built-in fittings, the boat fitted sheet clings to the shape of the mattress. The very tight elastic band ensures that the mattresses can be stretched smoothly. As with the yacht fitted sheets, your berth stays fantastically smooth even in rough seas.
This boat fitted sheet from Marine Business is particularly stretchy due to the material mix with a lot of elastane and can therefore be shaped like a trapezoid and adapt to cut-outs.

The boot fitted sheets consist of:

96% cotton
4% elastane

The cotton plant is a herbaceous plant from the mallow family. Basically, up to 51 species are known, but only four crops are used for industrial cultivation. After flowering, the cotton forms green capsules in which the seeds grow. When these are ripe, the now brown capsule bursts open and the seeds become visible with their white seed hairs. The well-known cotton fiber is obtained from these trichomes. Normally these plants are perennials, but they are used as annuals in favor of cheaper harvesting methods and higher yields. It has a high tear resistance, which is even better when wet. The cotton fiber can absorb up to 65% of its own weight in water, but it does take some time to dry again. Since cotton has proven to be skin-friendly and has a low allergy potential, it is particularly interesting for the textile industry.

Elastane is a rubbery chemical fiber made from polyurethane and polyethylene glycol that combines high elasticity and high strength. The special features of elastane are its extreme elasticity (between 500% and 700%), the enormous tearing length (between 8 km and 15 km), its permanent shape retention and its very low weight. The advantages of textiles and products made from elastane are based on this combination of properties. These are light and elastic, at the same time extremely dimensionally stable and therefore very comfortable to wear. Other strengths of the modern synthetic fiber elastane are that it has very low moisture absorption and no static charge. The "secret" of elastane is based on the properties of the two chemical components that make it up: polyurethane (ensures the cohesion of the individual fibers, i.e. the strength of the elastane) and polyethylene glycol (ensures the extremely high elasticity, i.e. for the elasticity of elastane).
