NMEA 2000 has become the de facto networking standard in marine electronics. Using a drop cable, each device to be integrated is connected to a so-called backbone (main line). This in turn is terminated at both ends with a resistor or connected to another connector. Special NMEA20000 connectors are mated to the cables in a waterproof manner to ensure maximum reliability and enable easy play-and-play installation.

The new NMEA2000 starter kit from Digital Yacht has everything you need to set up a small NMEA 2000 network on board, for example, a chartplotter, AIS and autopilot. It consists of a power cable, end resistors, 1m drop cable and a unique 6-way connector that forms the backbone. You can accommodate terminating resistors at both ends or connect multiple starter kits to form a larger network.

Our plugs are made of high quality, nickel-plated metal because we don't use cheaper plastic plugs like other manufacturers. With the help of our NMEA2000 starter kit, laypeople and professionals can quickly set up a reliable, secure and compact network. This means that modern boat electronics can be networked easily and cost-effectively.
