NavAlert a NMEA alarm system is Digital Yacht's latest innovation and allows you to set an alarm for any parameter available on the boat's NMEA 2000 network. This can be navigation data such as depth, course or speed, as well as electrical data such as voltage and engine/generator data, for example temperature, pressure, tank levels, fuel flow.

Installation is very easy because the device can be connected anywhere in the NMEA 2000 network and is also supplied with power via this connection. First, NavAlert creates a local WiFi network, so setup is possible from any smartphone, tablet or PC. Simply select the parameter you want to monitor and set an alert level. It is possible to monitor multiple parameters.

How it works is simple. Simply search for the WiFi network that NavAlert creates and connect to it using your smartphone or tablet. Open a browser and connect to NavAlert. You get a clear graphical user interface that makes it easy to set up and view network alerts and data. NavAlert constantly monitors the entire network so that the alert parameters can be set for each variable.

A custom anchor drift alarm is also integrated into NavAlert. This uses an algorithm to calculate the optimal drift radius based on the depth and circumference of the chain to provide reliable notifications. There is also an anti-collision alarm based on CPA, TCPA data from a connected AIS. These alarms can also be monitored via the wireless interface with attractive graphical displays of the current status.

Additionally, alarms can also generate an SMS message that can be forwarded over Digital Yacht's 4GXtream internet connection, enabling remote monitoring. Ideal for making sure the anchor holds while having lunch on land. The alarms are independent of the alarms set on a plotter. This means that NavAlert works even if no primary multifunction display is switched on. An important feature for sailboats with limited performance.

Furthermore, NavAlert is universally applicable and uses the industry standard data protocol NMEA 2000. It is compatible with all leading brands and systems.

Configuration

You can set up the NavAlert via its own web interface (no internet connection required). Simply open your web browser, enter the IP address of the NavAlert. You can set the Wi-Fi network name and password, and even merge the NavAlert's Wi-Fi with an existing onboard network. So no complicated software or programming app is required.

A number of popular alarms have been preset, organized by category, which you can select and edit. You can also create your own custom alarm based on the data available on your NMEA 2000 network. If you have an alarm set, you can select the action that NAVAlert will take when the alarm occurs, such as: Such as the tone and duration of the internal alarm that is emitted, or sending the alarm to a compatible MFD, or even sending an SMS message to your cell phone (if the NavAlert is connected to the 4G Xtream).

NAVAlert also has a smart built-in anchor alarm that allows monitoring of anchorages and also collision alerts with CPA and TCPA alarms.
